Warranty & Return Policy

What’s Covered (under warranty):

In the rare event that your purchase fails to operate under normal use and service due to defects in parts or workmanship, our warranty will cover the cost of parts and labour to repair or replace your warranty return with a like-for-like model. Replacements will be issued according to the specifications of the returned handset. Any differences in make, model, colour, memory, or network will be agreed upon by both parties.

We aim to repair or replace all warranty returns within a reasonable time, but lead times may vary depending on stock availability and replacement parts.

Common issues and parts covered under warranty include:

– WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
– Charging port
– Front and back cameras (including flash)
– Speaker, loudspeaker, headset
– Digitizer and LCD (see restrictions)
– Memory and SD card slot
– Proximity sensor and accelerometer
– Phone signal

Additionally, there’s a 6-month warranty for batteries.

What’s Not Covered (under warranty):

This warranty does not act as insurance, and it will be void if we determine that any fault has occurred due to misuse, accidental damage, deliberate damage, or water damage.

Specifically, we do not cover defects or damage resulting from:

– Normal wear and tear, including battery deterioration
– Disassembly, repair, alteration, or modifications carried out by anyone other than Second-Hand Phones.com
– Misuse, abuse, negligence, or accidents
– Improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, or any alteration or modification of the product

Furthermore:

– The warranty will not apply if the serial number or warranty seal on the product is illegible, defaced, or removed, or without proof of purchase.
– We do not cover water damage, even for phones rated as waterproof or water-resistant when new, due to degradation of rubber seals over time.
– Consequential or incidental damages, such as loss of use, loss of business, loss of profits, loss of data, fees related to third-party contracts, downtime, and charges for time and effort, are not covered.
– Any attempt by a third party to repair the handset will invalidate the returns period or warranty.

We strongly advise reporting any potential issues to us first so we can provide further guidance.

What You Must Do:

– Report any faults to us as soon as you discover them, as continuing to use a device with a fault may render it irreparable. You’ll be financially liable if you continue to use a faulty device, and any costs associated with returning it will be your responsibility. In such cases, we won’t uphold a warranty repair or replacement.

– Ensure that handsets are returned to us without any security measures (such as passwords or passcodes) in place that would prevent our engineers from completing a full assessment and factory reset. Handsets returned with security measures will experience significant delays.

– If removal of security measures is not possible on the device, provide this information on the returns form or via email to enquiries@irepairscotland.com so we can process the return fully and arrange for remote removal.

– Remove any SIM cards, memory cards, and other accessories from the handset before returning it to us, as these will be disposed of upon receipt. We do not provide any guarantee for data loss, so ensure you backup your phone’s data regularly.

– Return the handset to us on or before the expiry date of the warranty period; otherwise, it will be considered out of warranty, and any return will be subject to relevant fees.

– Package the handset safely according to courier guidelines before sending it to us and retain proof of postage and tracking number. You’re responsible for the handset until we accept delivery.

Postage Costs:

– You’re responsible for postage to and from our Head Office. Our return postage charge for eligible warranty returns is £9.95, payable by credit/debit card over the phone or directly to our PayPal Account payments@irepairscotland.com.

Faulty Handset Handling:

– Each handset undergoes rigorous testing before sale and dispatch. Should a warranty return be deemed fully working, you’ll need to pay the return processing fee of £8.95 and return postage fee of £9.95 to have it returned.

– We don’t provide refunds or exchanges for unclaimed returns, and they’ll be disposed of after 30 days.

Changes to Policy:

– We reserve the right to make changes to this policy and will provide reasonable notice of any changes. Past purchases won’t be affected by policy changes.

Other:

– We reserve the right to take appropriate action in case of policy breaches. Non-exercise of a right under this policy doesn’t constitute a waiver of our rights.

– If any term of this policy is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will still be valid.

– You can’t assign or transfer this policy without our prior written consent, but we may assign or transfer it on reasonable notice.

– All replaced defective products become our property.

– The warranty period begins from the purchase date once activated and runs without delay.

– Unclaimed returns are disposed of after 30 days, and the returns policy becomes void for those items.

Returns Policy:

Mobile phones and tablets may be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase, provided they are in the same condition as when they were issued. If you wish to return your product within this timeframe, please contact us promptly.

If there are only 4 days remaining in the 30 days, you’ll have 5 working days from notification to return the unit/s. Units will not be accepted for return outside of this period. Damaged products or those with software encryption will not be eligible for return.

To initiate a return, you’ll need to provide a receipt or proof of purchase. All items must be returned in protective packaging, sent via recorded delivery, and insured for the value paid. Please refrain from sending your purchase back to the manufacturer.

You are responsible for:

– Making regular backup copies of your phone’s information, personal data, software, and other content to protect against operational failures.
– Removing all personal data from your phone before sending it to us.
– Disabling all security passwords on your phone before sending it to us and reinstalling software programs, data, and information once it has been repaired or replaced.
– Before returning your iPhone, ensure that Find My Phone has been erased from your iCloud or Google account. You can check the activation lock status via https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/ by entering your phone’s IMEI.

A partial refund may be provided if the returned product does not meet these terms, assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Refunds (if applicable, subject to Returns Policy):

Upon receiving and inspecting your return, we will notify you via email regarding the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, the refund will be processed and applied to your original method of payment within a certain timeframe.

Late or missing refunds:

If you haven’t received a refund yet, check your bank account, then contact your credit card company and bank. There may be processing delays.

Change of Mind:

You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days from the date you receive your goods. Please contact us within this period to initiate the return process. You then have an additional 14 days to return the goods, which must be in the condition they were sold in.

iRepair will not cover the cost of return shipping for unwanted items, and a full refund will only be issued if the goods are received in the same condition as issued.
